Photorealistic Product Renderings

Admin / About 3D Rendering / / 2 Comments

Traditional product photography services are good way to create graphic content for marketing. But computers technology is rapidly growing in XXI century. This gives more power to product rendering services pushing out professional photography, as rendering become more realistic, quicker and cost effective.
3D product rendering is very similar to product photography, just one difference is in the way doing this:
– Photographers use studio, photo equipment, light equipment, light boxes and of course product itself.
– 3D designers use virtual studio, virtual photo equipment, virtual lightning, virtual products materials and product 3D model. Both of them can adjust their equipment, lightning, scene etc. to get better product images results. But only 3D designer can adjust product geometry, materials, finishes etc.
This is very important advantage of the renderings, as the product could be very small or may include some very small defects, scratches dust not visible for human eye but visible on zoomed product photos.
All this things can be adjusted on the 3D product model or virtual materials.

Also sometimes marketing material require different product material and color variations, in most these cases product photographer should take a photo of real new product for each photo, in this case the positions, lighting, shadows could differs which is not looking nice for example on the product web site. But for 3D rendering service this is much easier as the designer can change only materials properties and as the result all product photos are identical just colors are differs and when the customer choosing between product variations everything changing plain and nice on a product web page!

Other advantage has 3D product rendering service – easy product section views, exploded views for use in product manuals, descriptions and overviews.

What is 3D rendering or what is 3D render?

Admin / About 3D Rendering / / 2 Comments

What is rendering and why it is so popular today?

Rendering or 3D rendering is the 3D computer graphics process of automatically converting 3D wire frame models into 2D images with 3D photorealistic effects or non-photorealistic rendering on a computer. So 3D render is a computer generated image (CGI) of some products or nature creatures. 3D renders can be realistic, cartoon style, tech style and more others. Realistic 3D renders used for different marketing purposes, they are very clean, sharp, bright and this very helps to promote different products on the market.

Another advantage of rendering in contrast to photo studios is that there are no limits of size (you can get a picture of an item as large as an airplane, for example) and shape (you can create and render models of any shape you can imagine). That means that you even don’t need to have a real product to create photos (or videos) of it (which is impossible if you want to use a photo studio service)!

Suppose you need to take photos of the same product with different color variations (e.g., a smartphone case which available in white, red, or blue colors). A photographer will take images of (and enhance) as many products as color variations you need. In case with 3D rendering, it is enough to create only one 3D model of your product, position it as needed, and just apply different colors, textures, and even materials to it. And the main advantage of rendering is its PRICE. Say you are developing a new product and you want to take a picture of it (to show it to the potential investors). To do this in a photo studio, first of all, you will have your product to be made. That means that there will be additional expenses (besides the price of the photographer’s services): you will have to pay for the materials (metal, plastics, composite, etc.) your product is made of, for processing (machining, molding, finishing, etc.) and assembling of the parts of your product, and for equipment (for example, molded or forged parts need unique molds and dies).

So save your time, efforts and money and use 3D rendering service!

Why product realistic renders better than professional photos?

Admin / About 3D Rendering / / 2 Comments

If you are online seller on Amazon, Ebay or you have online shop, or you are on the development stage of your startup, or you are creating fundraising campaign on Kickstarter or Indiegogo you have a challenge to create nice product photos to attract buyers, customers and investors. You should use quality product pictures to call “click to action button”.

As known fact 83% of human learning by visual  and 93% of people say that visual content has the most impact on their decision. So graphics you are using are very important, images, photos, illustrations, animations you are using in your business should have highest quality to impress your customers.

Hire professional photographer is a good way to get product photos, as they have photo studios and professional equipment which help them to take quality photos. Also they do photo enhancement after the session as the photos will be very high resolution and product can have dust on it, micro scratches, oils, fingerprints, some manufacturing  shortcomings etc. And this all will be visible!

But the other fast growing way to get product images is to use 3D product rendering service. What does that mean? That means that your product photos will be created from virtual 3D product model. In the first stage a 3D model of your product based on dimensions, geometry, shape, etc.
will be created.  After the model is ready virtual materials will be applied to it and renders will be created which are hard to distinguish from real photos.

Let’s say, your product images will be taken in the ideal virtual photo studio so no dust, fingerprints, scratches etc. In addition the product shape, geometry, colors will be like a template.

So can get ideally realistic product images.

In addition to this advantages product 3D renders can be made from low-quality product photos, it is possible to make many different product colors, positions and variations. Also 3D renders could be created from drawings, 3D CAD models before the physical product will be ready!

As you can see product 3D visualization has many advantages which will push your business up faster and with minimum efforts from your side!
